We help people with mental, physical and developmental disabilities

It’s the start of something new at the Excel Society!

As of March 1, 2016 Brad Perkins joins Excel as the President/CEO. Brad assumes the role with the retirement of Sharon Read, after 15 years with the Excel Society.

As the past President/ CEO of the Excel Society, Sharon has transformed one of Alberta’s largest and most successful charities serving persons with disabilities, and has created a dynamic agency responsive to its community with programs and services, which have been recognized in Alberta for their excellence. She will be dearly missed by her staff and stakeholders.

Brad was born and raised in Edmonton and graduated from the University of Alberta. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, and former partner with KPMG, one of the world’s largest business services firms. Brad served on the Excel Society Board of Directors for 12 years including roles as Chair, Chair of the Building Committee, and Chair of the Audit Committee.

“Brad’s skill set, in combination with strong leadership and governance experience and exceptional interpersonal skills, will allow him to make a valuable contribution to the Excel Society,” says Excel Society Board Chair, Colleen Scott. “I also want to thank Sharon Read for her many years of service to Excel and wish her all the best with her new endeavours.” The role of President/ CEO within the Excel leadership structure is a critical one, notes Scott, “but also one that I am entirely confident Brad can deliver results in.”
