CHILDREN SERVICES
Children services provide support and guidance to more challenging children with developmental disabilities who do not fit into traditional supports or residential settings. Two residences provide support 24 hours a day for 6 children; Children Services also provides outreach support through the school system as well as through the Family Services for Children with Disabilities.
Each child receives supports based on their unique support needs such as:
* learning functional communication skills
* support in addressing behavioural issues
* learning life skill
* working in conjunction with the education system to enhance educationally based skills such as reading and writing
* health and medical needs
One of the prerequisites for intake into Children Services, is the children will eventually need to transition into PDD funded programs once the child turns 18 years of age.
