We help people with mental, physical and developmental disabilities

The Excel Society cares about people, and we want people who come to the Excel Society to feel accepted, valued, cared for and connected to something special.  We house, heal, and enrich the lives of people with complex mental health needs because it is the right thing to do, and we have what it takes to safely provide exceptional care.

Housing – We believe everyone needs a safe, comfortable, and practical place to live and call home.  We work directly with potential clients and their funding partners to identify person-specific housing needs, and then provide a long-term housing solution that best serves the individual in our care.

Healing – We believe everyone needs comprehensive healthcare and personal support for mental and physical illness.  We work with Alberta Health Services and Alberta Human Services to deliver person-specific healthcare plans and medical supports for our clients with disabilities or who may be diagnosed with Dementia, Alzheimer’s, Schizophrenia, or have a brain injury.  In addition our teams deliver essential community skills training for our clients in the areas of health, hygiene, personal communication, and behavioral support.

Enrichment – We believe everyone needs to express themselves, create meaning in their lives, and feel connected to their community.  Our best-in-class trained staff assist clients with art lessons, musical experiences, pet therapy, drama productions, and recreation and leisure activities including supported access to community services such as the library, recreation centers, city parks, and swimming pools.

We walk alongside our clients on their journey, providing community-based supports that have enabled thousands of people to live more independent and meaningful lives.  We listen to and respect each client’s individual needs and provide personally tailored services.   We care for people of all ages, and have transitional supports that enable people to live in the community and age in place.  We strive to be at the forefront of everyday excellence and innovation in Community Living and Supportive Services.  The Excel Society has been helping people in Alberta for over 50 years.

No matter the size of your donation you can trust that it will go toward housing, healing, and enriching the lives of those in our care.
