Grand Manor Enhanced Designated Assisted Living

The Grand Manor is Excel's largest project in support of clients with a variety of challenges. This project has multiple funding partners including The Edmonton Housing Trust Fund and Capital Health. This 56 suite Apartment Hotel assists clients in rebuilding their lives in our community and is one of a kind in Alberta. This building brings with it personal dignity and self determination along with quality and client support. Each person living in the Grand Manor has their own barrier free suite that includes a kitchen area with a microwave and fridge as well as a barrier free washroom.

The Grand Manor has received accolades as a unique program that supports individuals who have health care needs and are also at risk of homelessness. Through a harm reduction model, Grand Manor also supports seniors who are at risk due to alcohol addiction.

Case management for Grand Manor clients is provided though a Capital Health Case Coordinator Registered Nurse. Grand Manor is also staffed daily by Excel Society Licensed Practical Nurses, Personal Care Workers, a Recreation Therapy Team, a Nutrition and Food Services team, and Security. Grand Manor Clients are able to access other professional services such as Occupation Therapy, Psychiatry, and Social Work through referral to Capital Health.

Aside from providing daily meals to Grand Manor clients, the Nutrition and Food Services Team at Grand Manor operates a catering business and a cafeteria that is open to Excel Society staff, Excel Academy students.
