Personal Care and Special Care Homes

The Excel Society operates 12 community based Personal Care and Special Care Homes in Edmonton that provide personal care services to individuals. All clients have a Capital Health care plan that is augmented by person centered planning to help clients to develop and achieve their goals. Excel Society Residential Coordinators oversee the Personal Care and Special Care Homes and coordinate client care services with the Residential Services Manager, and Capital Health Case Coordinator.

Excel's trained staff, deliver a variety of services and support in the Personal Care Homes. Staff assist with daily needs such as helping clients with meals, transportation, access to the community, going for walks, visiting gyms, libraries and special events. Other key components of the service are medication management and health and wellness. Where required, staff also provide support for clients with complex needs. Ultimately, the level of support is dependent upon client need and their personal care plan. Staff listen and endeavour to encourage confidence and pride in those who truly need a friendly ear and support, in the challenges of life.
