The status of “Confirmed Outbreak” is based on 2 members of our team at Balwin testing positive for the virus. Both individuals are doing well and are in isolation. We wish them both the very best as they work their way back to full health.
At this point, no clients have tested positive for COVID nor have any other members of our team. More than 176 swabs have been taken for clients and employees. More than 160 results have been returned and all are negative with the exception of the 2 individuals from our team. The remaining results are pending and we expect the results over the next number of days.
While Balwin is considered a COVID Outbreak Site based on the two positive tests, at this time, the information we have indicates COVID does not exist within the facility. The 2 members of our team that contracted the virus were not in contact with each other and we do not believe transmission occurred within Balwin. The status of “Outbreak”, is entirely based on the two positive tests from our team. We will ensure we update everyone, should we receive any information that changes our understanding.
We are working with AHS and Public Health. Both have been on-site and have reviewed all of our safety protocols. We will be enhancing a couple of procedures as a result of the work with them and we will be subject to audit, which we welcome, to ensure we are following all best practices and Health Orders.
We will be updating our communications to ensure everyone is aware of what is happening within Excel and specifically at Balwin, over the next couple of days and I will update you accordingly
