Enriching Lives Since 1923
1. Early Beginnings
In 1923, the Hospital for the Insane in Ponoka reached capacity due to returning soldiers from war. Alberta Hospital Edmonton was built to address this need.
2. Community Integration
In the 1970s, Alberta Hospital Edmonton began integrating patients back into the community, pioneering approaches to supportive care.
3. Humble Origins
Over 55 years ago, a small project serving 15 clients out of the Robertson-Wesley United Church basement laid the foundation for the Excel Society.
4. A Legacy of Care
Today, every team member plays a vital role in providing exceptional care through meaningful engagement, upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and service excellence.
